Foreign portfolio investment into Nigeria’s equities market fell sharply by 92.39% in April 2025, as inflows dropped to N26.64 billion, compared to N349.97 billion recorded in March.
The Securities and Exchange Commission says listed companies on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. declared N1.1 trillion in dividends to shareholders in 2024. The Director-General of SEC, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday. Agama said that N1 trillion had already been paid to shareholders out of the N1.1 trillion declared.
Nigerian stock market transactions have surged to N2.7 trillion in the first four months of 2025, setting a new record.
